Temperature from inside the fixative.
A sealed probe rests in the formalin and logs its temperature about once a minute, from the moment N1 is activated.
A two-part node that holds to a specimen container’s lid and records what the tissue goes through on the way to your lab.

Between the procedure room and the grossing bench, a specimen can wait, travel, warm up and get opened. Most of that is a handwritten time on a requisition, if it is written down at all.
What happened to the tissue in the jar, measured while it happened. Not reconstructed from paperwork later.
Inside N1
The brain sits on top of the lid. The puck sits under it, in the jar. Magnets hold them together through the lid, and the brain powers the puck across it. Nothing pierces the container.

How it works

A camera under the lid looks down into the fixative with its own diffused light. It takes a picture when the jar is handled or settles, or when you ask, and keeps every image on N1 until it is synced.

A sealed probe rests in the formalin and logs its temperature about once a minute, from the moment N1 is activated.
A lid sticker lets N1 tell when the jar was opened and closed. Each event is time-stamped on the record.
The Prova Record™
Hold a phone to the brain to identify the jar, and its history downloads over Bluetooth. Times, temperatures, lid events and images on one timeline.
Both write to the same Prova Record™, so the specimen’s history travels with it from collection to the scanner.

N1 is designed for standard prefilled formalin containers, so collection teams keep their supplies and their routine.
